FHA Participates in Social Justice Workshop

sjconFor the second year in a row the Family Heritage Alliance, represented by FHA Executive Director Dale Bartscher, was blessed to have participated in the Social Justice Commission Fall Retreat Workshop hosted by the Catholic Dioceses of Rapid City, SD. Approximately 60 participants gathered, from across the state, on Saturday, October 17, on the beautiful Terra Sancta Campus. The scripture text of Matthew 25:40 set the tone for the day’s event: “Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.” Topics included in the day’s workshop ranged from: Principles of a Just Society; Reasons to Consider Alternatives to the Death Penalty; Human Trafficking: Modern Day Slavery – Right Here in South Dakota; and Understanding the Legislative Process. The FHA was invited to set up our FHA Display as we visited with the participants in attendance and Dale addressed the workshop attendees on the social values work of the FHA in South Dakota.
