Pastors Receive Certificates

Back during the summer, before the snow and the cold weather descended on South Dakota we had visitors to our booths at Hills Alive and LifeLight enter their pastor’s names for a drawing. The gifts would go to four pastors and their spouses and would feature a free night at a bed and breakfast for each fortunate couple. We thank Audries Bed and Breakfast, The Steever House Bed and Breakfast, and Black Forest Inn for donating toward this worthy cause.

When the drawings were done, Pastor Ben Payne and wife Maria, Pastor Roy Burket and wife Pam, Pastor Doug Clark and Wife LeAnne, and Pastors Brent and Tani Parker walked away with gift certificates. The FHA congratulates these pastors and their spouses. The following is the corrected content with two additional winners. Click the following images to read about the people pictured.

bb_paynePastor Ben Payne writes:

I serve as the lead pastor of the Mitchell Northridge Baptist Church. I grew up in Canada right beside the Rocky Mountains in Southern Alberta. Before coming to Mitchell I spent sixteen years in full-time ministry as both a youth pastor and a worship pastor. God had been working on my heart and has led me to Northridge to be the lead pastor and I am so glad to be here serving Him in this way. We moved here in July of 2011 and are having a great time getting to know people and the “ins” and “outs” of living in this great city.

Maria and I have been married since 1998 and we have two children – James (Jamie) and Kathryn (Katie). We love to go camping, ride bikes, watch a good movie, and go for slurpees together.
In my free time you will usually find me restoring or riding a motorcycle, or an old car. I also love working on tasks around the home like building and remodeling. Softball, football, basketball, baseball, golf, hockey, hunting, fishing, playing guitar, and singing seem to fill any other time that I have.

This is such a kind gift! I’m not sure if I was qualified to use it because I didn’t know my name was in any drawing. After hearing from you now I will visit with my wife and look for a good date to go and take advantage of a night away.

Thanks so much!

We count it a great privilege to serve at Bethesda Church in Huron, SD. God has been so good to us! Pam and I are also grateful for the partnership with FHA as they keep us informed on issues pertinent to our state laws and gov’t. Thanks to FHA and Steever House Bed and Breakfast for this generous gift certificate of one free night’s stay. We look forward to using this in the future for some relaxation and time away.

Sorry for the delay in getting this to you. Dale we enjoyed our chat w. you at Life Light back in Sept.

Thanks again,

Roy Burket

bb_clarkPastor Doug & LeAnne Clark have served the Nisland Independent Community Church as Village Missionaries since 2004. Before this, they served a congregation on the south coast of Oregon.

Doug is also involved in the community as a firefighter with the Nisland/Arpan Fire & Rescue and with Newell Ambulance as an EMT. He loves out-of-doors activities and was raised in Alaska. LeAnne is the current finance officer for the Town of Nisland, South Dakota and is the busy mom of four energetic boys.

Our focus is to preach the Word of God with clarity, and love the people with Christ’s compassion.

Thanks FHA so much for the blessing of encouragement. The FHA is definitely one of God’s “good and perfect gifts” Thanks again, and God bless.

We were pleasantly surprised to find out we had one a night at our FAVORITE getaway! And to top it off, this gift comes from FHA, an organization that is fighting for family and freedom in South Dakota. Double win! Thank you, Dale Bartscher!
